# Mail recommendations

This page is intended for customers who do not have the recommendation builder. If you have the recommendation builder, you can consult [this page](https://docs.abtasty.com/recommendations-and-merchandising_deprecated/recommendations/recommendation-banner/how-to-build-recommendations-recommendation-builder-variant).

Before setting up your first recommendation, ensure the following prerequisites are completed:

**CMS Integration:** Verify that your CMS is properly connected to the platform.\
**Analytics Integration:** Ensure your analytics tool is successfully integrated.

## Step 1: Access the Recommendations Tab <a href="#h_01jdpdne2t4cdpzm0mp29dha8j" id="h_01jdpdne2t4cdpzm0mp29dha8j"></a>

If everything is set up, navigate to the ‘Mail Recommendations’ tab in the left-hand menu.\
If your tools have been connected correctly, this page will allow you to start configuring your first recommendation.

**Troubleshooting Integration Issues**

* Double-check your CMS and analytics integration settings.
* Ensure all provided credentials are valid and correctly entered.
* If the issue persists, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) for assistance.

## Step 2: Create a New Recommendation <a href="#h_01jdpdqgs77shfyter9yt4sby7" id="h_01jdpdqgs77shfyter9yt4sby7"></a>

1. Click on the ‘Create a New Recommendation’ button.
2. You will be redirected to the configuration page.

## Step 3: Name Your Recommendation <a href="#h_01jdpdrhn8mj8teqs8hzsq4jzq" id="h_01jdpdrhn8mj8teqs8hzsq4jzq"></a>

At the top of the configuration page, click on the bold title to rename your recommendation.\
Choose a clear and descriptive name that will help you identify the recommendation later.

### Configuring Parameters <a href="#h_01jdpds39wmbgmyjbdq5xxb2mg" id="h_01jdpds39wmbgmyjbdq5xxb2mg"></a>

To create a recommendation, you need to define several key parameters. While not all parameters are mandatory, the more detailed your configuration, the better the results.

## Step 4: Save Your Recommendation <a href="#h_01jdpdyddh4tk35p668ftnn7j2" id="h_01jdpdyddh4tk35p668ftnn7j2"></a>

Once all parameters are set, click on the ‘Save’ button to ensure your configuration is stored.

## Step 5: Preview the Result <a href="#h_01jdpdyfx7pn947qsmppn0xncf" id="h_01jdpdyfx7pn947qsmppn0xncf"></a>

Before finalising, click on the ‘Preview’ button in the top-right corner to see how your recommendation will look in real-world scenarios.

* Taking the time to fully configure each parameter will enhance the relevance and effectiveness of your recommendations.
* If you encounter any issues during the process, refer to the platform’s documentation or contact your CSM for guidance.
