Shopify Integration

To successfully integrate your Shopify store with the AB Tasty Recommendations & Merchandising platform, please follow the detailed steps below.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Access the Integrations Page

Navigate to the ‘Integrations’ page in the platform by clicking on your avatar in the top-right corner of the interface. Locate the Shopify icon and click on the ‘Connect’ button directly below it.

Step 2: Open the Shopify Interface

The platform will display a step-by-step instruction window to guide you through the connection process. Open the Shopify admin interface in a new tab.

Shopify Configuration Steps

Develop Apps for Your Store

• In the Shopify admin interface, go to ‘Develop apps for your store’.

• Click ‘Continue’ in the platform’s instruction window to move to the next step.

Create an App

• In the Shopify admin interface, click on ‘Create an app’.

• Enter ‘AB Tasty’ as the app name.

• Click ‘Continue’ in the platform’s instruction window.

Configure Admin API Scopes

• In the Shopify admin interface, click on ‘Configure admin API scopes’.

  • Select the following scopes:

    read_inventory

    read_orders

    read_product_listings

    read_products

    read_locales

    read_translations

    read_markets

    write_products

  • Click ‘Continue’ in the platform’s instruction window.

Save Your Configuration

• In the Shopify admin interface, click on ‘Save’.

• Click ‘Continue’ in the platform’s instruction window.

Install the App

• In the Shopify admin interface, click on ‘Install app’.

• Click ‘Continue’ in the platform’s instruction window.

Retrieve API Credentials

• In the Shopify admin interface, retrieve the following values: *

  • Hostname

  • Admin API access token

  • API Secret

  • Admin API secret key

• In the platform, enter these values into their corresponding fields.

• Click ‘Connect Shopify’ to finalise the integration.

Verifying Your Integration

1. Return to the platform interface by clicking ‘Back to Dashboard’ in the top-left corner.

2. Navigate to the ‘Catalog’ tab in the left-hand menu.

• If your products are displayed, the integration is active and operational.

• If no products appear:

  • Verify that you followed all steps correctly.

  • Check for errors in the API credentials or configuration.

  • If the issue persists, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) for assistance.
