Connect your e-commerce platform's catalog with AB Tasty Recommendations & Merchandising to enable intelligent product recommendations.

Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure you have:

  • Active AB Tasty Recos & Merch account

  • Administrative access to your CMS platform

  • Product catalog with unique item identifiers

  • Understanding of your product data structure

Supported platforms

AB Tasty supports integrations with:

Connect your Catalog

The connection process varies depending on your e-commerce platform, but all integrations follow a similar pattern of authentication, data selection, and synchronization setup.

For Shopify

Shopify integration provides seamless access to your store's product catalog and customer data through AB Tasty's native connector.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations in your AB Tasty dashboard

  2. Select Connect Shopify from the available integrations

  3. Authorize AB Tasty to access your store data through the Shopify app permissions

  4. Select specific product collections to include in recommendations or choose all products

  5. Configure sync frequency (recommended: daily for optimal performance)

  6. Review the data mapping to ensure product attributes are correctly aligned

How to configure Shopify integration

For PrestaShop

PrestaShop integration requires installing a dedicated module that connects your store's data with AB Tasty's recommendation engine.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations in your AB Tasty account

  2. Select PrestaShop Integration from the available integrations

  3. Download the AB Tasty module package from your dashboard

  4. Install the module in your PrestaShop admin panel under Modules & Services

  5. Enter your unique API credentials from the AB Tasty dashboard to establish the connection

  6. Configure which product data fields to sync (name, price, categories, stock levels)

How to configure PrestaShop integration

For Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Salesforce Commerce Cloud integration uses a cartridge-based approach to connect your B2C Commerce instance with AB Tasty's recommendation system.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations in your AB Tasty dashboard

  2. Select Salesforce Commerce Cloud from the available integrations

  3. Configure cartridge installation following the detailed technical guide provided

  4. Set up automated data feeds for product catalog and order information

  5. Configure site-specific settings for multi-site Commerce Cloud implementations

  6. Test the connection using the built-in validation tools

For Magento

AB Tasty Recommendations & Merchandising uses the Magento Admin API to retrieve the catalog and sort products by category. To make API requests, need a Magento integration.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations in your AB Tasty dashboard

  2. Select Magento Integration from the available integrations

How to configure Magento integration

For Google sheet catalog integration

The Google Sheet catalog integration lets you connect your product catalog to AB Tasty Recommendations & Merchandising directly from a Google Sheet. It’s a quick and flexible alternative to API or CMS integrations — ideal for small catalogs, tests, or early-stage setups.

What it does

  • Allows you to manually manage and update your product catalog in a shared Google Sheet.

  • Automatically syncs catalog data from the Sheet to AB Tasty at regular intervals.

  • Gives full autonomy to marketing or merchandising teams to test or edit product data without developer/product experts support.

When to use

  • When no CMS or PIM integration is available quckly.

  • For light setups, demos, or pre-production environments.

  • To test recommendations or search indexing before a full integration.

Merchandising features are not available with this integration.

For CSV catalog integration

The CSV catalog integration allows you to import your product catalog into AB Tasty Recommendations & Merchandising using a simple CSV file. It’s the fastest way to connect your product data if you don’t use a native CMS connector (Shopify, Magento, etc.).

What it does

  • Upload or update product data (name, price, stock, images, etc.)

  • Sync your catalog manually or through an automated import URL

  • Works with any e-commerce platform or PIM that supports CSV export

For custom catalog integration

Custom integrations allow you to connect any e-commerce platform or custom-built system through data feeds or API connections.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations in your AB Tasty dashboard

  2. Select Custom Integration from the available integrations

  3. Choose your preferred data feed format (JSON, XML, or CSV)

  4. Configure feed URL for automated updates or set up manual upload method

  5. Map your product attributes to AB Tasty's standard fields:

    • Product ID (unique identifier for each item)

    • Product name (display name for recommendations)

    • Category (hierarchical product categorization)

    • Price (current selling price)

    • Image URL (high-quality product images)

    • Stock status (availability information)

  6. Set up automated sync schedules or configure real-time API updates

  7. Validate data quality and completeness before going live

How to set up custom integration

Validate your integration

Once your CMS connection is established, it's crucial to verify that data is flowing correctly and all product information is properly formatted for recommendation algorithms.

  1. Navigate to Products in your AB Tasty dashboard to review imported catalog data

  2. Verify that products are syncing correctly with accurate titles, prices, and availability

  3. Check that product attributes are mapped properly to ensure algorithm effectiveness

  4. Confirm image URLs are accessible and displaying high-quality product photos

  5. Review category mappings to ensure proper product organization

  6. Test a sample of product data for completeness and accuracy

  7. Monitor sync logs for any errors or data quality issues
